⏱️ Zekai Challenge · Personal Productivity Edition

From zero to AI master.
30 days. 5 minutes a day.

You are not drowning because you lack tools. You are interrupted every two minutes — and the most common thing people now do with AI is generate more for everybody else to read. One 5-minute drill a day on using it to remove work instead, with the rule that stops you passing yours on.

Free forever · No app to install · Built on the Zekai Audit of 1,900+ tested AI tools

The Interruption

0

interruptions a day — one every two minutes.

Microsoft’s telemetry across aggregated Microsoft 365 signals found the average worker receives 117 emails and 153 chat messages a day, while half of all meetings land in the two windows when most people focus best.

The Workslop

0%

of workers have received AI output that looked finished and wasn’t.

Researchers at BetterUp Labs and Stanford named it workslop: work that looks polished but lacks the substance to move the task forward, so the receiver has to interpret, correct or redo it. Each instance costs them close to two hours.

The Return

0%

of organisations see no measurable return on their AI investment.

So much activity, so little to show for it. Speed on its own does not appear in outcomes — and 48% of employees, with 52% of leaders, already say their work feels chaotic and fragmented.

The plan is simple.

No course platform. No 6-hour videos. A daily drill you run in any AI assistant — built around your actual inbox and calendar, and around the rule that stops you handing your work to somebody else.

Day 30 has a trophy.

Finish the challenge and earn the Zekai Certificate of Completion — proof you didn’t just read about AI, you practised it for a month. Type your name. Go on.

Certificate of completion of an educational challenge — not a professional certification and not issued by any industry body. But it looks good on LinkedIn.

Questions before you start

Is this really free?
Yes. Zekai is an independent AI tools directory — the challenge is how we introduce people to the tools we test. Some tool pages contain affiliate links; the challenge itself costs nothing and requires no purchase.
Isn’t AI what’s causing the overload in the first place?
Partly, yes — and that is exactly why this edition exists. 41% of workers have received workslop: AI output that looks finished but lacks the substance to move the task forward, costing the person who receives it close to two hours of rework (Harvard Business Review, 2025). Day 6 installs the rule that prevents you producing it. Almost every other drill here is about removing work rather than generating more of it.
Can I paste my emails and calendar into ChatGPT?
Not with confidential or personal details in them. Every drill that touches real content carries an instruction to strip names and identifying information first, and day 27 has you write your own confidentiality line before you are under pressure to need it. Day 25 is explicit that passport, payment and identification data never goes into an AI tool at all.
Is it legal to have an AI notetaker in my meetings?
It depends where the participants are, and the rules are not uniform. An AI notetaker joins, transcribes and stores — which makes it a recording device. Some jurisdictions require every party to consent rather than just one, and your attendees may not all be in the same country or state. Day 15 has you write a recording protocol, and it tells you plainly to verify the rules for your own jurisdiction rather than trust a general answer.
I’m not an executive assistant. Is this still for me?
Yes. Most of the drills are about inbox, calendar, meetings, attention and follow-through, which describes almost any desk job. The assistant and chief-of-staff framing just sets the standard: you are treated as somebody responsible for protecting other people’s time as well as your own.
Why can’t I see all 30 drills at once?
Because binge-reading builds nothing. The challenge unlocks one drill per day from the day you sign — the way any skill gets built: daily reps. Day 1 is open right now so you can try it before committing.
Do I need any AI experience?
Zero. Day 1 assumes you have never written a deliberate prompt. By day 14 you will be triaging by consequence and restarting the threads that quietly stalled on you.
What if I miss a day?
Life happens, and so do weeks like that. The challenge is sequential, not strict-daily. Pick up where you left off; the certificate cares that you finish all 30, not that you were perfect.
I work in a specific profession. Is there a challenge for that?
This is the Personal Productivity Edition. Doctors, lawyers, accountants, teachers, marketers, students, real estate agents, HR, customer support and finance are already running theirs, with more professions coming. Sign up and we’ll tell you when yours goes live.
